I did not agree , but those who believed that Nawaz Sharif has learned from his past mistakes and is now a "new" Nawaz Sharif were right .
Yes he has learned from his mistakes and that is why he is appeasing all the powers - that -matter. Whether judiciary , military intelligence agencies read, TTP , Media , India , United States. He has learned the art of "survival " . He knows the consequences of antagonizing truly wellthe these powers , and is now conducting " responsible " and "mature " policy .
He began his political mature and responsible in your home , to give birth Maryam Nawaz Sharif Hamza Shahbaz Sharif instead of Asif Zardari and PML ( N ) , Captain Safrdar . He also has two sons , Hussain Nawaz on tours abroad and make it a point to introduce them to the head of states.
So he is now a successful politician . And hopefully that will complete a term of five years. And I'm sure he will also win the next election. As almost no ' politically mature and responsible " one in this pure land that can meet all these stakeholders. So everyone is going to try to bring him back to power as they did this time and succeeded.
Nawaz Sharif and his mentors may be successful in obtaining energy, but I have serious doubts that this will change the fate of the common people in Pakistan. . So far there is almost no visible change for men in the street , instead of them life has become even harder. Dollor has crossed Rs 100 mark , the prices of everyday products , are at their highest point , and the security situation has become worse.
The most serious problem that is shaking the foundations of the State is terrorism. It's happening in Pakistan for quite some time , but it is very interesting that the government has not yet come back with a clear strategy to combat terrorism. Even this government is not doing much about it. It seems that the government is not allowed to do anything about it, or should I say , this is such a sensitive issue that the government itself is preventing agree with his policy of appeasement . Since the government took office we've been hearing about a new strategy to fight terrorism , but not quite there yet.
Government announced that it will hold all parties conference on terrorism. But later backed down after Imran Khan 's demand for a meeting before the APC between Nawaz Sharif , Imran Khan and army chief . Leaving politics aside , I think it was not such a bad idea . This matter is so sensitive that it can not be discussed openly . The government could have invited a few more people at this meeting , so as not to give much importance Imran khan . But you should not leave at all, since it is the question of the survival of the country , the policy on this issue is not going to take anywhere
The current wave of terrorism started in the Musharraf era and still continues unabated . Previous government did not have the capacity nor the vision to do anything about it.
Before the general election, the people of Pakistan had high expectations of Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan as they were fed up with insecurity and other problems.
However things have not improved yet. No truce in terrorist activities , terrorist organizations instead of TTP and others have stepped up their attacks. In Buluchistan especially since the new government led by the nationalist leader Buluch took power , the situation has deteriorated really there.
It's too early to dub PML ( N ) and PTI as a failure, but still have the support and confidence of the people. So should be taken against terrorism as their top priority and do something about it on a war footing . And maybe the negotiation is still the most viable option . There is no doubt that after the death of some senior Taliban commanders , TTP has weakened and there are reports of differences in their ranks. TTP is still powerful enough to carry out suicide attacks across Pakistan.
Just before the general election, TTP has offered to hold talks with the government to end its activities, but later withdrew its bid after what he described as lukewarm attitude of government misleading . But that offer was too late because the election was very close , and it was not possible to carry out the negotiations at the time. However, what is interesting is that the Taliban had nominated Nawaz Sharif and Syed Munawwar Hussain as mediator or guarantor between the government and the Taliban , and now both JI and PML ( N ) are in government. JI is ruling in KPK along with PTI and PML in Punjab, Bluchistan and center. So it should not be too difficult for them to break the ice.TTP has offered negotiations again , I think we should not waste this opportunity .
The drone attacks have helped new recruits TTP suicide bombers and gain some sympathy well.Both Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan has criticized drone attacks in the past. Yet still continuing drone attacks . The drone attacks are definitely the main source of fueling anti-government feelings , because its collateral damage . But it is also a fact that some major ranking Taliban leaders have been killed by drone attacks . It's a good sign that the Secretary of State , John Kerry during his visit to Pakistan has announced that drone attacks to end soon .
Over the years, the people of Pakistan have suffered a lot due to terrorism . If you really want to make Pakistan a viable, then a general policy against terrorism should be developed , taking into confidence all major political parties and civil society . This is perhaps the last opportunity to PML ( N ) , if he could not deliver, his fate would be no different from the fate of the PPP .
